A creative programme about the built environment for 14-18 year olds
LONDON ROAD, LIVERPOOL
In the second phase of the Academy, Group 2 were handed the task of redesigning London Road, in Liverpool’s city centre.
This group identified that London Road was more of an area that people tended to move through rather than a destination in its own right, and through their research targeted ways of making the area safer, cleaner, more positive, and vibrant.
Inspired by ‘Squash’ in Toxteth, they have designed a community amenity that creates activities such as tree planting and community gardening to bring people to the area, as well as featuring targeted housing schemes and street murals.
