USEFUL
RESOURCES
At the Academy, the work of our participants, volunteers and staff members goes beyond the programme itself. Here, you can find a small selection of the resources that have been produced and used by participants over the programme.
The Independent Task offers a design challenge that invites students to create an intervention in their local neighbourhood.
For a wide range of fun, environmentally themed activities, check out the Creative Activity Booklet. This was designed to inspire our participants to explore their creativity and interact with their local area during the Summer School.
You can also find a game and quiz which designed by our talented students, Lucy and Eve.

Creative Activity Prompts
Originally created to support the Summer School programme that was moved online in light of Covid, this creative booklet features nearly 40 pages of tasks from mapmaking to zines, and guerrilla gardening to paper dolls and writing tasks. It includes plenty of techniques and ideas for exploring your local community and inner creativity.
A great resource to use with KS2 in supported learning activities or older students as an independent learning task.

Independent Task
This task, from the first day of this year’s Academy, provides a wide design brief, challenging students to create a physical intervention that would either have a positive environmental impact, or raise awareness of an environmental issue.
Examples of various interventions are provided, along with tips on how to succeed.
